Begin Again
This is the first time in a long time...
I’ve wanted to start a new blog for a while, but I’ve been stuck letting social media dictate the process. It’s been efficient—sometimes too efficient. Social media has created a kind of laziness in me. While it's quick to share a photo or a quick thought, it's also made me less inclined to talk about the process and the depth behind the work. When I look back at my posts over the years, I realize there’s so much more to these stories and photos than what I’ve shared.
That’s why I’m starting this blog—to be more descriptive, to let people in on the stories, the work, and the process behind the scenes. I also hope this space holds me accountable in my creative journey, pushing me to grow and be more intentional. My goal is to not only expand my audience but to focus on the type of work I truly want to create.
When I started freelancing, I shot everything. Coming from a newspaper background, that was just who I was—someone who did a little bit of everything. A jack of all trades, but master of none. But that’s not what I want anymore. I want to hone my skills, to specialize, and move in a more defined direction. I believe that focusing will not only make me a better photographer, but also a better business owner.
So here’s to accountability. Here’s to growing, adapting, and always striving for something better. Let’s begin again.
